IndEX pedagogy aligns closely with Ofsted’s revised Education Inspection Framework, implemented for inspections from November 2025.
This framework continues to emphasise the three pillars of Intent, Implementation, and Impact, while also introducing new assessment areas such as attendance, inclusion, leadership and governance, and learner well-being.
Intent: IndEX offers a wide and ambitious curriculum that goes beyond academic knowledge to include real-world skills and behaviours. Every engagement is aligned with exam board specifications, Gatsby Benchmarks, and progression pathways, ensuring coherence, ambition, and equity for all learners, including those who are disadvantaged or have SEND.
Implementation: The four-pillar framework (Inspire, Create, Prepare, Experience) offers a structured pedagogy for teaching and learning. Employer engagement is deliberately sequenced and embedded, ensuring knowledge is revisited, contextualised, and enriched through authentic professional application. The approach also upports teacher workload and professional development, aligning with Ofsted’s increased focus on staff well-being.
Impact: Learners not only achieve strong academic outcomes but also build confidence, professional fluency, and employability. Impact is measurable through improved attendance, behaviour, examination performance, and progression to high-quality destinations. Evidence is collected systematically, allowing leaders to show achievement against Ofsted’s new evaluation areas, with clear progress towards the Strong Standard and, in many cases, Exceptional Practice.
By explicitly embedding inclusion, personal development, and measurable outcomes, IndEX not only complies with the November 2025 Ofsted framework but also surpasses it. Learners leave with the two golden tickets: academic success and lived professional experience, ensuring provision that is both high quality and memorable.
